Creating moodboards for clients is a critical step in the website design process.
Moodboards help clients visualize the website's design direction, including fonts and icon style, ensuring all parties are aligned before proceeding to wireframing. While creating potential moodboards, I take the time to understand the client's goals and preferences for the website's design, which involves researching their brand (if existing), industry, target audience, and any design preferences they may have.
Then, I curate 2-3 potential options for style directions that fit within the above areas. The moodboards are submitted to the client for feedback, and any necessary refinements are made until the final moodboard accurately represents the client's vision for the website's design.
This is a pivotal part of the project creation process that saves time, money, and effort while ensuring the final website design meets the client's expectations and goals.
